An Experience between Architecture and Spirituality
The exhibition Angels and Architecture celebrates the ninetieth anniversary of the birth of the celebrated Hungarian architect, Imre Makovecz (1935 – 2011), founder, together with other great contemporary artists, of the Hungarian Academy of Arts (MMA).
The work, imagination, faith and spirituality of the extraordinary architect are represented through a series of drawings, sound effects, music, photos, and original audio and video materials.
Makovecz’s buildings are inspired by, or rather resemble, angels, celestial creatures in which he believed. His buildings, just like angels, offer shelter, while with their wings they connect earth with heaven, creating a connection between us humans and the celestial and otherworldly dimensions as well.
